The fire protection industry changes, and so do the systems designed to protect lives and property. With technological advancements and changing codes, upgrading current fire sprinkler systems is an essential topic of discussion.

For this reason, FPC/Fire Protection Contractor magazine is featuring SYSTEM UPGRADES in our January 2026 edition — and we are looking to include your perspective.
Deadline: December 4, 2025
(Submissions received after this date may be published later)
Why Does Your Perspective Matter?
Every upgrade project comes with unique challenges: aging infrastructure, compliance hurdles, or budget constraints to name a few. But it also brings opportunities — improved safety, efficiency, and innovation. No two projects are the same, but the end game always is — protecting life and property.
Your insights help shape the dialogue across the industry. Whether you’re a designer, contractor, engineer, inspector, or supplier, your experiences can guide others navigating similar projects.
What We’re Looking For
We invite you to share a short article (800 words or less) or simply respond to one or more of these guiding questions:
🔧 What are your primary problems and concerns with upgrading fire sprinkler systems?
🏗️ What other challenges do you face during upgrades?
👷 What qualities do you look for in a team tasked with upgrading fire sprinkler systems?
💡 Any other comments or insights you’d like to share?
We always appreciate receiving photos of your favorite projects, too!
How to Contribute
Send us your commentary, stories, or professional opinions by December 4, 2025. Contributions received after this date may still be published in future issues.
By working together, we can highlight the realities of system upgrades and enhance the fire protection community through shared knowledge.
Yours for a better fire sprinkler industry,
